Introduction
The consignment routines allow for automatic or manual creation of consignment
orders. It provides functions to handle the receipt of consignment stock and
tracking of consignment stock movement.
What does it do?
This function manages data specific to items defined as consignment stock.
Any consignment information processed by this function can be retrieved and
viewed or modified and posted independantly of conventional stock.
If a transaction effects inventory, or is a stock movement in any way, the
standard posting routine is called and the transaction is posted to the relevant
Consignment and Accounting interface tables.
The procedures for consignment stocktakes are managed by the Stocktake Module.
The major features of the Consignment function include -
- Consignment stock is entered to the consignment pool
- The next process is to initiate the Consignment Pool and inventory update
- A Periodic Update process synchronises the consignment and inventory sub
systems
- The penultimate process is to prepare the delivery data for posting
- This process has three major functions Generate fully received Purchase
Orders, Generate GRN's and Debit notes for A/P
- The final process is to update the consignment inventory and performance
tables
